Lots of laughs with these fun people who are work buddies and their friends from Vancouver. Where to go?? Indian Arm was a good decision for a day trip since the sights of Vancouver Harbor are very interesting from the water. We motored past the Stanley Park Seawall, Canada Place, the shipping terminal and hit the 2nd Narrows bridge against the current. It got a little exciting with OMOO shifting back and forth. Then the wind came up in Indian Arm and our new to sailing crew got a taste of what we luv to do, OMOO wound it up sailing close hauled and showed off how easy she sails upwind.
A calm anchorage at the end of the sail with a lunch hook and loads of Romanian food, which was pretty much like regular food, just brought by Romanians Ingrid and Rodu.
Lots of laughs on the way home and a call into the 2nd Narrows Bridge Operator to lift the railway bridge made the trip home even more interesting as we tested OMOO against the 6 Knot current, doing about 1.5. It was mostly like being on a treadmill but we eventually made it through. Everyone agreed the next trip we’d time that much better!!
It was a great day introducing new people to sailing which is one of the best things about life on the water!!
