“Is it still raining??: SS asks the skipper this morning. Finding out it is she pulls the covers over her head with a groan. The forecast is for rain all week!! “That’s it, I’m going to the prairies, forecast is for +12 in SUNSHINE!!”
Usually it’s after snow and before mosquitoes when flights are booked for a visit to the prairie family, but who cares this year. Wishing she would have stayed in Australia under an extended VISA, possibly available as GRANDPARENTS VISA, SS packs and repacks one more time, dressing in layers, rain gear, down vest, T shirts and bathing suit. Be prepared for anything, especially hot tubs along the way on her brother’s farm, right next to the hog barn and right beside the snow bank!!
YOU CAN TAKE THE GIRL OUT OF THE PRAIRIES, BUT YOU CAN’T TAKE THE PRAIRIE OUT OF THE GIRL!!
A week later, “Got my redneck fix with some yummy farmer sausage and country music blasting on the radio.” But my heart stays on the ocean with the Skipper and OMOO.
The rain and snowpack this year on the west coast are gonna make for spectacular action on the waterfalls in Desolation Sound and the Broughtons. If you’ve ever contemplated visiting Lacey Falls in Kwatsi Bay, this may be an exceptional year to see this amazingly beautiful sight
Here’s OMOO at Lacey Falls a few years ago. I hope it entices you to go!!
