We’ve ordered new sails and can’t wait to see how the boat sails “sans
Granny Panties!!” The original sails have stretched out over the years and become less efficient. This is VERY exciting!! Some of you may have seen the Skipper doing all the measurements and helped out to get it done. THANK YOU!!
COUNTDOWN IS ON TO SUMMER SAILING WITH NEW SAILS!!
We’re enjoying a little nostalgia this eve as we get OMOO cleaned and organized for the 2018 sailing season. (gulping wine as Sideways Sally self medicates through the job) WINK WINK!!
ENJOY THIS BLAST FROM THE PAST (2016)
TWENTY KNOT WINDS, WHAT A BLAST, OMOO TO CLAM BAY UP TO NINE KNOTS BROAD REACH.
Whew!! What a ride and just what the Doctor ordered. This is what we live for folks, I KNOW, I KNOW, everybody says, “Be careful out there, it’s blowin pretty good.” Sideways can’t wait and neither can the skipper. YEAH, we got wind!!
As you can see OMOO loves a good stiff breeze to shake off the cobwebs and lift the crew’s spirits. It’s been tough sluggin uphill the last few weeks with Hershey out of commission and Sideways up to her ass in alligators in the Big Stink. ANYWAY, that’s all gone now and here we are, back in the saddle.
PLANS, PLANS, PLANS??? Seems like the most we ever get planned is half a plan, depending on which way the wind blows. It did blow us into the cockpit of some fun friends from Maple Bay when Sideways stumbled across Kevin and Lynn on Veride at Thetis Island CS Rendezvous. I snuck onboard while Kev was upside down in the beer cooler, and gave him a surprise, “Any cold beer left in there?” Well there was only one reserved for the wifey but he graciously shared some warm beer and we were on our way.
SEE, the way OMOO sees it, is you just can’t plan too much, for the sake of spontaneity. Plus, Mother Nature doesn’t know which way to turn from one day to the next and often changes her mind mid-course. So we’re happy just going with the flow and SWEET JESUS, IT THAT EVER A FUN RIDE!!
We’re out for most of September, staying local in the Gulf Islands and drifting around to our favourite haunts. Would love to rendezvous whenever it works so send us a message on this blog or give us a call on the VHF.
HAPPY SEPTEMBER, IT’S ANOTHER SUNNY MORNING AND LIFE IS GOOD.
